What is Emsella treatment?

Emsella is a non-invasive treatment designed to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. It uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology to stimulate deep muscle contractions — similar to performing thousands of Kegel exercises in a single session. The treatment is carried out while you remain fully clothed, simply sitting comfortably on a specially designed chair. Emsella is commonly used to help improve bladder control, reduce urinary incontinence, and enhance pelvic floor function and confidence.

How does it work?

Emsella uses High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy to stimulate the pelvic floor muscles. When you sit on the Emsella chair, this energy causes the muscles to contract deeply and rapidly — far more intensely than you could achieve with voluntary pelvic floor exercises (Kegels). Each session delivers the equivalent of thousands of strong muscle contractions, helping to strengthen and retrain the pelvic floor. Over time, this can improve muscle tone, bladder control, and overall pelvic support.

How is the treatment administered?

During an Emsella session, you remain fully clothed and simply sit on the Emsella chair, which is specially designed to deliver targeted electromagnetic energy to the pelvic floor. The treatment is comfortable and non-invasive — you will feel strong but manageable muscle contractions as the device works. Each session typically lasts around 28 minutes, and there is no downtime, meaning you can return to normal activities immediately afterward.

Are there any Side effects?

Emsella is a very low-risk, non-invasive treatment with minimal side effects. Most people only experience a sensation of muscle contractions during the session, similar to strong pelvic floor exercises. Occasionally, there may be temporary mild muscle fatigue or slight pelvic awareness afterwards, which usually settles quickly. There is no downtime, and you can continue normal activities immediately after treatment.

No — Emsella is non-invasive and comfortable. You will feel strong, rhythmic muscle contractions in the pelvic floor area, but it should not be painful.

Can I stay fully clothed during treatment?
